Prayer I

Prayer for the Beatification of McCauley

God, our loving Father, we thank you for the gift of your servant, Bishop Vincent McCauley, to the Church and to the people of East Africa, and in particular to the Diocese of Fort Portal.

By his goodness, gentleness, kindness, and innovation, you guided your people through times of ignorance, poverty, and suffering. His endurance of physical pain, and his example of humility, self-giving, deep faith, and pastoral zeal, were an inspiration to many people.

We pray that you may glorify without delay him who consecrated to your glory and service his life of labor and sacrifice.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Lord, we ask that you bring many to know and imitate the virtues of your servant, Bishop Vincent McCauley, and to benefit by his devotion to you and to the service of others.

We ask you through his intercession to grant us the favour of:
